‘Meetings with Remarkable Men and Women’
We respectfully invite you to submit your interest in joining 9th -12th grade students to attend the ‘Meetings with Remarkable Men and Women’ symposium at Laurel Springs School. This virtual program is a special initiative at Laurel Springs School, which touches our global school community. ‘Meetings with Remarkable Men and Women’ provides an opportunity for highly accomplished United Nations Global 500 Laureates to talk about their life’s work, share their passion, wisdom and unique journey with our students. Many of our speakers are affiliated with the United Nations and organizations interested in bettering our world.
The ‘Meetings with Remarkable Men and Women’ are conducted using an online symposium format, in which the speaker presents their chosen topic supported by a slide show, which is visible to all the attendants. There is a microphone, a place for attendants to make comments or ask questions, a whiteboard (where the slideshow will appear) and a complete list of all the attendants’ names. Our symposia have the feeling of a lecture hall, except everything takes place in students’ homes and classrooms, located around the world.
Our students will connect with an inspired and interested global student community who will ask many wonderful questions during the Q & A of the presentation. Our capable and dedicated teacher advisors will monitor the presentation, mentor students, and moderate our event.
