Margaret Robertson

Margaret Robertson is Coordinator of Wilderness Society campaigns for the passage of wilderness protection legislation in Australia, including the successful enactment of Australia's first Wilderness Act in the State of NSW in 1987.

Ms. Robertson instigated a national wilderness education campaign, and undertook joint authorship of a comprehensive code of management for Australian wilderness areas.

Recipient of a Federal Government World Environment Day Youth Award in 1987 for the Society's National Campaign for Wilderness and awarded Honourary Life Membership of the Wilderness Society in 1991, following ten years of fulltime activism.
