Update Regarding Amazon Region - Gert Roland Fischer (1989 Laureate)

During the last week I visit as consulter in a Amazon region, in the State of Mato Grosso, in a small City named SORRISO, with 65.000 inhabitants, 25 Yares old. These county (minicip) is the biggest soya beans producer - 600.000 hectars, al of them, exported to USA and European Community mainly to the Neederland .

This soya plantation ist sprayed by airplain with the dangerous pesticides - more of them imported ilegaly from Paraguay, whos legislation alow the clorine pesticides, There pesticides classified by PAN - Pesticides Action Network as THE DIRTY DOZEN more of them cancer and mutations cases in human beans and animals.

Information collected in this area, show that the soya growers use more than 6 quilos pesticides per hectare (10.000m2) Brazil is the second bigger pesticides consumer in the World. Multinationals companies spray on the environment every Year more than 250.000 ton copromising the production costs over two billion USD.

A lot of these pesticides, retorn to the american and European consumers as contaminated food.

I am consulter of tree NGOs that wrote Environmental Education programs to promote better regulations and information to the soya beans growers.

Al of the Amazon region soya growers, destroy the Rain Forest to plant soya, with lower worker hands because the plantation and growing will make with machinery.

I think that in the ONU-UNEP Environmental programs must find Financial support to minimize impacts ond the aier, soil, water, consumers and workers.
