Pierre Schram

Pierre Schram graduated to Ingnieur Civil at the Ecole Nationale des Eaux et Forts, Nancy, in 1952.

In Luxembourg, he was the Deputy Director of the Forest Administration and the Executive Manager of the Management Planning Office. He specialises in forest inventory by remote sensing and in geo-referenced forest information systems.

Since 1985 he has been an Associate Member of the International Union of Forestry Organizations - IUFRO.

In 1989 he received the United Nations GLOBAL 500 Award. He presented an electronic calliper in 1986.

Pierre Schram is now retired from Public Service. He continues his actvities in forest inventory as well as in forest terminology being the Deputy Coordinator of the IUFRO Working Group: Sylvaplan / Forest Management Terminology. He holds the position of Deputy Representative in the IUFRO International Council.
