Roll of Honour/Laureates

The individuals and organizations who join the prestigious ranks of global laureates have, in their own distinctive manner, influenced the destiny of life on earth as active participating members of the community.

I am proud to present, on this site, the names and some of the profiles of these 'heroes' in the front line of global environmental action. They realize that global issues are in fact rooted in daily life, and that actions in private life ripple out and affect the larger environment.

In honouring them the United Nations Environment Programme seeks inspiration from their extraordinary deeds.
